URGENT MESSAGE for those in Sports Libre and Racing Car Classes

Rule S10.1.11. has been amended to require a "currently homologated FIA safety harness". This now reads :

S10.1.11. Hill Climb Super Sports Cars, Sports Libre Cars and Racing Cars must be equipped with a currently homologated FIA safety harness complying with K.2.1.3 or K.2.1.4.

This means that harnesses are now "lifed" from year of manufacture and all component straps must be dated and must be in-date. This "lifing" is embedded within the FIA standard and is not stated anywhere in the Blue Book. The FIA standard is five years starting on January 1 of the year following the year of manufacture, so if you purchases cleverly you can get up to 6 years life. Please make sure that you have in-date FIA belts for the first event at 3-Sisters. This will be checked.

Many thanks to Chris Mansley (Chief Scrutineer) for alerting us to this.

Regards,

Craig Powers, Comp Sec

Welcome to the Longton & District Motor Club

Longton & District Motor Club is based in Preston, Lancashire and organises the Longton’s Northern Speed Championship – the Best Speed Event Championship in the north of England.

The circuits, Wigan Three Sisters in Lancashire and the excellent Anglesey Circuit, give us 5 different track layouts for the events we organise.

Together with the other events and venues that comprise the Championship, we offer our competitors the most challenging and varied season of local motor sport.

We are always looking for ways to improve and promote the running of the club and would welcome comments from anyone regarding any changes we can make.

We meet most Monday evenings at the Lonsdale Club in Preston so come along to see what we are all about, newcomers are always welcome. You don’t even need to be interested in competing we are always on the lookout for volunteers to help in  the organisation and running of the events
